In a world where people give their unwanted parenting advice. The one I hear most often is “Stop spoiling your baby”
But in my world, in my adventure as being a mom, that IS NOT a thing.
You are not spoiling your baby when you comfort them when they are seeking comfort in you.
You are not spoiling your baby when you cater to them by dropping what you are doing to tend to their needs.
You are not spoiling your baby when you cancel plans because he/she is having a bad day.
You are not spoiling your baby when you decide to be a stay at home mom instead of going back to work after maternity leave.
You are not spoiling your baby. You are LOVING them.
Not only do we live in a world where unwanted advice is given. We also live in a world where love is LACKED. Love is truly becoming an overly used four-letter word with zero to no meaning to some.
With that being said, the biggest impact I want to give my child is LOVE.
So yes. I will completely rearrange my day for him. I will stay awake at 3am when he simply needs me. I will pick him up when he starts shedding tears.
Everything that one considers being spoiled. I’ll do it on the drop of a dime. The only difference is its love.
